What I’m reading:
“The Artists Way” by Julia Cameron. I’ve shared bits and pieces of this in my stories. This book is about uncovering what makes us human: our creativity. I am glued to every word, and have been doing all of the course work the book suggests. Including the “morning pages” which entails writing your stream of consciousness first thing in the morning. Reading this has brought up a lot of emotional wounds, but it’s also forcing me into a higher alignment.
Music I’m loving:
Jack Garratt Phase
Quote that resonated:
“Everyone has a purpose in life. A unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of gods.” -Deepak Chopra
Idea that’s on my mind:
Re-programming the subconscious has been on my mind a lot recently. I’m in the process of creating a “how to” guide, and I’ve been thinking a lot about how deeply programmed we are. So much of healing involves unlearning and then resetting. I’m thinking a lot about creating a new version of self.
Follower discovery:
A follower was kind enough to share an affirmation that I’ve been using. You can find it on spotify (link) I Am Affirmations: Gratitude and Self Love by Power Thoughts Meditation Club. This affirmation uses the solfeggio healing tones.
Lesson Learned this week:
A lot came up for me emotionally this week. Unhealed wounds, past patterns, and low energy vibrations overwhelmed me. I had a ton of mental chatter about myself going “backwards” and indulged in some thoughts that didn’t serve me. My lesson this week was about acceptance and release.
Recipe of the week:
Bone Broth
Bone broth is super easy to make and incredibly healing for the gut. If you have access to a local butcher they usually have extra bones and will set them aside if you ask for them. I’ve also seen them at whole foods (frozen). They’re affordable, and can be made with the bones of your choice: chicken, lamb, turkey, or anything else you’re able to source.
Add bones to your slow cooker or crock pot. Cover them with water. You want the bones to be completely covered, but do not let the water level be higher than the bones.
Add:
Salt
Garlic cloves
Bay Leaves
Apple Cider Vinegar (this pulls the minerals from the bones)
Any other spice of choice
Cook on low for anywhere from 6-24 hours.
Strain
You can drink this straight or make it into a soup
Store the rest of the broth in a bell jar. When you refrigerate, it will turn into a gel like substance. This means its full of collagen goodness.
